Automatic Speed Reducer for Tandberg 11-2M Tape Recorder

This device, built around 1976, was used to reduce the speed of the Tandberg 11-2M tape recorder from 7.5 inches per second to 7.2 inches per second after 4 seconds from recorder switch on. The Tandberg speed was selected as 7.5 inches per second and the automatic speed reducer connected to the 6 pin DIN accessory socket. The external device was powered by the regulated +9 volt supply from the tandberg machine. The device started it's 4 second delay from machine switch on giving the automatic operation required. The 7.2 inches per second controlled speed remained until machine was switched off.
