MORE INTRODUCTION

The image above is a short length of 16mm Black and White film. The full width of the film is 16mm but the width of the frame is a lot less. The extra on one side is taken up by the sprocket holes, and the other used as space to add a soundtrack. [In the early days the films had sprocket holes on both sides.]

The parts of the viewer that the film touches have a "raised patform" along each side to prevent the picture area of the film being damaged. [The Key Code is printed printed at the same time as the negative to make matching up of the two much easier after the print has been edited.]
