||The Muray viewer is a device that can be used to study
a reel of film frame by frame. The film is usually pulled through the viewer manually from a reel on the
left to a reel on the right. The reels are usually suported in a vertical position and can be rotated in
either direction by a geared Handle. The film can be moved backwards or forwards by moving the two handles
together. Stopping winding stops the film for closer study by the user. The next section, REWIND ARMS and
other film moving methods, describes the reel moving methods in more detail.
